"I can envision a small cottage somewhere, with a lot of writing paper, and a dog, and a fireplace and maybe enough money to give myself some Irish coffee now and then and entertain my two friends."

- Richard Van de Geer (Letter to a friend. Geer was the last American to officially die in Vietnam).

The quotes throughout this site are mainly random. But the above quote by Geer was purposely chosen to use on this page. I feel it important that people see beyond the celebrations, for 091 belongs to those who went to Vietnam, wanting nothing more but to come home to a little cottage, a dog, and yes, some Irish coffee. You are not forgotten.

091 Comes Home

We met the leading lady in October of 2002. It was evident then she was special. It took a lot of team effort on the part of many people to bring her home. It was an honor to have been allowed to be part of this historic event. Our favorite Huey has come a long way from Vietnam to where she is today. Since landing in our backyard she has flown thousands of miles and brought healings and education to many. It is now time to let her rest knowing she will honor those who fought and gave their lives on the foreign soil of Vietnam. 091 can be viewed at the American History Museum at the Smithsoniana in The Price of Freedom exhibit for the next few decades.
